Hey guys!
In regards for our reading assignment on censorship, I thought I would share these articles with you. Our book gives a list of books that has been challenged, but the links I am providing will tell exactly WHY the books were challenged. Additionally, the ALA gives a list of how many times a particular book has been challenged and where.
I thought that these lists may give everyone a better understanding of the challenges we will face as teachers when fighting for a particular text. Keep in mind, a lot of these books are canonical texts, and you may have even read a few of them when you were in school. The lists are worth browsing.
This link pertains more to YAL and children's literature:

This is the ALA site with specific challenges to canonical texts:

Great links--very helpful. Thanks for sharing them!
